Mond (Moon) Silver Award
Received 2 July 2007
"Hello George,
"It was an honour for us to review your website, "McCartney's Journeys in
Genealogy", and we enjoyed it. Your site and your work as webmaster is really
a big surprise because you are already 70 years old!
"The website belongs in the area of genealogy. It is researched well, that
family story of the McCartney's whose roots pass from Ireland and Scotland.
"Rich information, easy navigation, nice looking design and in substance for
all interested very helpfully!
"I loved your Colophon on the first page. A colophon was used earlier as the
end formula of medieval handwritings and printings with details about author,
printing place and year. Here it shows a "boot-maker", or "cordwainer",
therefore a shoemaker, an occupation that can be traced far back in the
ancestor gallery of the McCartneys. Into the "early 1800's", one counts five
shoemakers in the family. So it does not amaze us that this emblem was
selected by you. A nice idea to see the origin of your ink sketch when the
mouse touches it.
"Your website is quite well designed and neither technically nor in substance
anything to criticize.
"So we will award it with our SILVER MOON AWARD and we hope you feel proud.
"Congratulations and again many years of enjoyment with the worldwide net!"
